I guess you want the story before you sign up for the rp. So here it goes:

"Long ago in the land of Divinex there was a great uprising against Queen Merdrak and her demonic thirst to destroy the people. Her treacherous minions poisoned the minds of the world's leaders giving them the persona of true evil. Soon enough wars waged through every corner of the godforesaken planet. Some races chose to hide away and not get involved with the matter, other races like the Dwarves and some Humans picked fights with the Elves and the other fair folk. The only ones trying to keep peace were slaughtered instantly, the ones who fought were most likely to survive. Farther into the great war it was all against the elements. Battles in the sky, the sea, and mostly on land. Fire and Ice, Water and Lightning. Towards the end when the plane was scortched and completely desolate the last few willing to fight began to charge. A blinding light erupted from the sky and piereced the land, and Artemis (chief god) along with all the other gods descended down from the heavens. Furious with the actions of the Queen, Artemis personally ripped out her heart and gave it to Hades who has kept locked under his throne room in the Underworld. Once her body was drained of darkness and hatred the gods stole the Light from peoples lives and implanted it inside her. Turning her to stone they imprisoned her in her castle at the edge of the world for all eternity. With that they forged a key that would one day unlock the Light and restore harmony throughout Divinex. A boy of eighteen recovered the key from the temple ontop Mt. Lunascape. How you ask? By accident. On the day of the forging of the key Artemis held Destiny captive inside the temple. Only one who had suffered great loss, found great love, and stayed pure of heart would recevie the key and journey to the end of the world. Followed by his one true love Mari would accompany Harvey on his quest. Many obstacles would bar their path, those of the darkness would stand in front while those who believe the stories would follow the light. The key is no weapon, but a beacon of hope. Those who try and take it are but mere enemies. Those who wish to protect it will become close companions. Who's side are you on?"
